Based on a request to demonstrate the fuel efficiency and excellent environmental performance of MINI Japan's diesel vehicles, the challenge was to see if a single diesel tank could reach Lake Towada in Aomori from MINI headquarters in Tokyo. The entire journey was 683 km.
Motor journalist Tatsuya Kushima conducted a test drive of the entire process and captured the situation on video. The project was shot entirely in 4K, which was a significant technological step forward for Strategy SET. In Aomori, we also used the groundbreaking drone, DJI Ronin, to capture aerial photography and dynamic movements on a low budget. By using drones, we were able to produce authentic and sophisticated commercials, while keeping costs low on a low budget.
