In February 2016, the Christchurch Centre of Contemporary Art (CoCA) reopened with its first show, Precarious Balance.
We were tasked with developing the campaign for the show. Realising that we were in fact setting the scene for future exhibitions as well, we decided to create a tool-kit of elements that could be adapted across a range of future shows. We took inspiration from the shapes etched into the gallery’s front wall — the triangle, circle and square. Piling them into precariously balanced forms, we were able to create bold, striking compositions that could work either alone or tiled together with artworks from the show.
