Soon after the Red Bull Music Academy opened in Japan, we began discussions with Red Bull about creating a documentary film showcasing the history of music technology development in Japan and the most beloved iconic products created during that history.
Red Bull
Japan's music technology changed the world
The video shows how Japan, a technologically advanced country, transformed the world's music culture through two groundbreaking products: Sony's Walkman and Technics' SL-1200. Filmed in 55 interviews across three countries, DJs and music producers uncover previously untold stories about the impact of these two inventions on live music and the culture of music itself.
